New Delhi: As Lok Sabha elections are approaching, PM Modi has responded to the government's allegations of misuse of central agencies like CBI, ED, IT. He said that our fight against corruption will not stop. In the last 10 years, ED has spent Rs. Rs 1 lakh crore has been seized. Among those against whom ED took action, only 3 percent are leaders.
Prime Minister Modi said that corruption at any level affects the people of the entire country. Eradicating corruption from the country is our priority. Responding to allegations of ED action against opponents, PM Modi said that only three percent of corruption cases before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) are related to political leaders. The remaining 97 percent of cases are related to officials and other criminals.
He said that ED has seized assets worth thousands of crores of many corrupt officials, officials involved in terror funding, drug smugglers. Instead he accused the opposition of not using the ED properly. He said that before 2014, ED had seized only Rs 34 lakh in cash. In our government this figure is Rs. Reached Rs 2200 crore. Before 2014, the ED paid only Rs. Assets worth Rs 5,000 crore were seized, whereas in the last 10 years of our rule, ED has seized assets worth more than Rs 1 lakh crore.
Prime Minister Modi said that our fight against corruption will continue. To prevent the money of the poor from going into the pockets of middlemen, we implemented the Direct Benefit Transfer Scheme. Today, due to this scheme, more than 10 crore fake names and beneficiaries who were not even born have been successfully removed. In this way the government has saved Rs 2.75 lakh crore from falling into wrong hands.
Gaming industry does not need any restrictions: Modi
