New Delhi: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, arrested in the alleged liquor scam in Delhi, will run the government from jail. Giving an indication of this, Kejriwal, after issuing 'guidelines' to the Water Ministry on Sunday, issued some orders to the Health Ministry on Tuesday. However, there have been controversies regarding running the government from jail. At such a time, the Enforcement Directorate has rejected the claim that Arvind Kejriwal had given any instructions from jail. ED says that Kejriwal is under CCTV surveillance and at present he has not signed any papers and has not given instructions to any ministry from jail.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who was jailed after his arrest in the alleged liquor scam in Delhi, has not yet resigned and has claimed to run the government from jail. Kejriwal had given indications in this regard by giving instructions to the Water Ministry on Sunday. Now on Tuesday, Kejriwal has further strengthened his claim by giving instructions to the Health Ministry. At a time when controversy has arisen over giving instructions to ministries from jail, Kejriwal has given another instruction.
Kejriwal has told the Health Ministry that there is a shortage of medicines in mohalla clinics and government hospitals and there is difficulty in diagnosing diseases. A session of the Delhi Assembly will be called on Wednesday, in which the Chief Secretary has been ordered to give information about the status of free medicines and free diagnostics in mohalla clinics and hospitals.
Controversy is increasing over two instructions of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. After BJP complained about this, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has said that Kejriwal has not signed any instructions from jail. The Delhi Chief Minister is under CCTV surveillance and is currently not allowed to sign government files. Kejriwal is currently allowed to meet only his wife and lawyers.
After CM Kejriwal issued instructions to both the ministries, the ED is now investigating whether Kejriwal had signed any documents during these visits.
Meanwhile, BJP termed Kejriwal's 'instructions' as fake and said that a case should be registered against Delhi government minister Atishi. BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa said that he has complained about Minister Atishi to LG VK Saxena and ED.
Meanwhile, Delhi BJP leaders and workers protested against the claim of running the government from jail and marched towards the secretariat near ITO.
On the other hand, in protest against Kejriwal's arrest, AAP workers demonstrated outside the PM's residence and raised slogans against the central government.
