ED raids the residences of lawyer, DTO and CO and many others in Ranchi and Dhanbad | News India

Ranchi, 08 October (HS). The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is conducting raids at the residences of several people including advocates, DTOs and COs in Ranchi and Dhanbad. This action has been taken on the basis of FIR registered in Pandara police station. A huge amount of cash is reported to have been recovered from Dhanbad in the raid. The ED team along with a lawyer has raided the premises of Dhanbad DTO Diwakar Prasad Dwivedi, Kanke CO Jai Kumar Ram, Prabhat Bhushan, land businessman Sanjeev Pandey, a person named Ravi.

It is noteworthy that apart from Kanke and Namkum CO, Dhanbad DTO has been accused of making a deal worth Rs 5.71 crore to manage the ED which is investigating the land scam case. Sanjeev Pandey, a land businessman and resident of Pandara, has filed a case against lawyer Sujit Kumar at Pandara police station in Ranchi in the name of managing the case related to ED. Sanjeev Pandey alleges that lawyer Sujit Kumar has defrauded some officers and him of more than five crores for not including his name in the ED charge sheet.

According to Sanjeev, Sujit had assured him that he would save him and some of his officer friends from the ED case and their names would not appear in the charge sheet. In return, Sujit cheated crores of rupees from him. Even after this his name appeared in the ED charge sheet. When Sanjeev asked for money, the advocate issued 54 checks in lieu of non-payment. Also gave the car in exchange of money and made an agreement.

Advocate Sujit has also filed a case of kidnapping against Sanjeev Pandey. Advocate Sujit Kumar has said in his application that Sanjeev Pandey along with his associates Ravi Kumar Prabhat and Diwakar along with 10-12 others reached the office in Pandara, armed with weapons and wrote on a plain paper that they had taken Rs 6.40 crore from Sanjeev Kumar Pandey. Later, he was kidnapped and left in Kathi Tand area on the afternoon of October 3.
