There is a need to rise above politics and work on paper leak: President
President Murmu mentioned the paper leak incidents while addressing the joint session of both the houses of Parliament on Thursday. The President said that the government is committed to a fair investigation of the recent paper leak incidents. The culprits will be given severe punishment. Even before this, we have seen papers being leaked in many states. Therefore, Parliament needs to rise above partisanship and make strict laws.
The world is watching India's progress: President Murmu
President Murmu said, “Reform, performance and transformation have made India the fastest growing economy in the world. In 10 years, India has become the 5th largest economy from the 11th. Despite the Corona epidemic and various conflicts, India managed to achieve development. This has been possible due to the reforms done in the last 10 years and the decisions taken in the national interest. Today India contributes 15% to world development. We are continuously moving towards making India the third largest economy in the world.
People have faith that this government will fulfill all their wishes: President
Addressing both the Houses, the President said that today the whole world is discussing the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The world is seeing that the people of India have formed a stable and clear majority government for the third time in a row. This has happened after six decades. He said that at a time when people's expectations are at the highest level. People have expressed confidence in my government for the third time in a row. People believe that my government can fulfill their wishes.
Record increase in MSP: President Murmu
The President said that my government is giving equal importance to the three pillars of the economy – manufacturing, service and agriculture. The PLI scheme and ease of doing business are increasing investment and employment opportunities on a large scale. He said that more than Rs 3 lakh 20 thousand crore has been given to the farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi to run their small expenses. The government has increased the minimum support price for Kharif crops to a record high.
Benefits of Ayushman to the elderly, making farmers self-reliant: Murmu
President Murmu said that in the new government, we are giving the benefit of Ayushman to all people above 70 years of age. Not only this, the government has also worked continuously for the farmers. 20 thousand crore rupees were transferred to the farmers. With this, we have made the farmers more self-reliant.
India's development is dependent on the empowerment of the poor, youth and women
Speaker Draupadi Murmu said that the creation of a developed India is possible only when the poor, youth, women and farmers of the country are empowered. That is why my government is giving them top priority. Our goal is to provide them the benefits of every government scheme. India is working with determination to ensure that no person is deprived of government schemes. Government schemes have lifted 25 crore Indians out of poverty in the last 10 years. My government is developing affordable and indigenous assistive devices for Divyang brothers and sisters. My government is working to expand accident and life insurance coverage by integrating social security schemes for workers.
Emergency is the biggest attack on the country's constitution: President
President Draupadi Murmu also mentioned the Emergency in her address. She said that the Emergency is the biggest attack on the Constitution of the country. The President said that today is 27 June and 25 June was the worst moment for the Constitution of the country. My government does not consider the Constitution of the country as just an incident, but also takes the consciousness of the people along with it. Earlier on Wednesday, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla also described the Emergency as the most unfortunate for the country. The Speaker also observed two minutes of silence in the House.

India becomes the fastest growing economy
Talking on economy and investment, President Murmu said that my government believes that there should be healthy competition among the states to attract investors from around the world. This is the true spirit of competitive cooperative federalism. We will continue to move forward with the spirit that the development of the state should lead to the development of the country.
Defence exports reached Rs 21 thousand crore in a decade
President Draupadi Murmu said, “Modernization of our armed forces is essential for a capable India. We have been the best even in the event of war.” To ensure this, the process of reform in the armed forces must be continued. With this mindset, my government has taken several important steps in the last 10 years. Along with various reforms, India is engaged in defense manufacturing worth more than Rs 1 lakh crore. Our defense exports have increased 18 times to Rs 21,000 crore in the last decade.
