Earthquake tremors have been felt amid snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir. The earth shook at 9.06 pm in Baramulla, Kashmir. Its intensity was recorded at 4.0 on the Richter scale. Local people ran away after the earthquake.

There is no news of damage yet. On the other hand, there is heavy snowfall in the valley. Roads in Kulgam are covered with snow. Snow removal work is going on on National Highway-44. Along with Kashmir, there is snowfall in Jammu region also. During snowfall in Doda, layers of snow were visible all around.
Snowfall in most parts of Kashmir
The minimum temperature has increased in most parts of Kashmir. A western disturbance was observed in the valley on Friday, causing snowfall in the higher reaches. The IMD said due to the western disturbance, there is a possibility of rain in the plains of Jammu and snowfall in the higher reaches of Chenab Valley and Pir Panjal Range.
Cold wave is going on throughout Kashmir. Due to drop in temperature, water in the pipeline froze. Many water sources including Dal Sarovar have started becoming cold. The minimum night temperature in Srinagar on Thursday was recorded at minus 7.3 degrees Celsius. Earlier on Wednesday night the temperature was below minus seven degrees Celsius.
