Dumper crushed an old man who was going to meet his sick wife undergoing treatment.

Hisar, 15 October (Hissar). An old man who was going to the vegetable market to meet his ailing wife undergoing treatment in a private hospital was hit by a dumper driver from behind. Due to this the old man died on the spot. The deceased has been identified as 70-year-old Maman Ram, resident of Ram Singh Colony. After the accident, the driver fled leaving the dumper truck on the spot. On receiving information about the accident, the police reached the spot and took the body to the civil hospital for post-mortem. Police have registered a case against the unknown truck driver on the statement of the deceased's son.

According to the information received from the police, 70-year-old Maman Ram, resident of Ramsingh Colony, was going to the vegetable market for some work on his electric scooter to meet his ailing wife undergoing treatment in a private hospital on Tuesday. As soon as his scooter reached in front of the telephone exchange, a dumper truck coming from behind hit his scooter from behind and dragged his scooter for about 10 feet. Due to this, the electric scooter was damaged and Maman Ram died on the spot after coming under the dumper. According to eyewitnesses, after people raised an alarm about the scooter coming under the dumper, the driver jumped from the moving dumper and fled from the spot.
