This time in the UP International Trade Show (UPITS) 2026, which is going to be held in Greater Noida from 25 to 29 September, the skills of women of Braj region will be showcased at the world level. Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh is giving a new flight of self-reliance to the women of rural areas by implementing the vision of ‘Local for Vocal’ and ‘Local to Global’. In this series, ‘Didis’ of Self Help Groups (SHG) formed in Braj region under Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission will participate in this trade show. Here the excellent products manufactured by them will be showcased and marketed brilliantly, giving their business a huge international market.
There will be an exhibition of wonderful products of Braj
A comprehensive exhibition of products prepared by self-help groups from Agra division will be organized in UPITS. Domestic and foreign buyers and investors coming to the fair will be able to see beautiful decorative glass products made by the women of Firozabad district. Along with this, beautiful earthen pots, Tulsi pots and flower pots prepared by the women of Mathura district will also be the center of attraction. There will also be a stall of products like attractive artificial jewellery, teddy bears and jute bags manufactured by groups of Mainpuri district, from where rural women will be able to earn direct profit by selling them.
Livelihood Mission schemes will be publicized
In this international trade fair, not only products will be sold, but information about various beneficial schemes running under Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission will also be provided. Through the trade show, visitors will be made aware about the process of group formation, women empowerment schemes like Take Home Ration, BC Sakhi and Vidyut Sakhi. In this event, BC Sakhi Mamta of Gram Panchayat Brithla, located in Saiya block of Kheragarh tehsil of Agra district, is also participating with full enthusiasm, who will demonstrate the strong role of women in rural banking.

There is great enthusiasm among women about this opportunity being available at the international level. Reena of Lakshmi Self Help Group of Mainpuri said that we sit in the village and make artificial jewellery, teddy bears and jute bags. Thanks to the Yogi government, today our handiwork is reaching such a big international platform, it is a matter of great pride for us rural women. Shanti Devi of Ekta Self Help Group of Firozabad said that the decorative glass products we have made with our own hands will get global recognition. Our hard work will be seen by people in the country and abroad, which will not only increase our income but will also increase the morale of other women of the group manifold.
Government’s big initiative to make women self-reliant
Regarding this entire event, Agra’s Deputy Commissioner (Self-Employment) Prem Chand said that on the initiative of Uttar Pradesh Government, UPITS is becoming a very powerful medium to make women financially self-reliant. By providing global market to the products of Braj’s Didis, the rural economy will be strengthened and the income of these rural women will increase significantly. This trade show will prove to be a milestone for them.
