Due to the high cost of medical education, students turned to pharmacy, more than 22500 record-breaking registrations for pharmacy studies

Ahmedabad News: The craze for admission in degree-diploma pharmacy courses after 12th class science is increasing year after year to a record-breaking 22,500+ students have registered. However, on the other hand, there has been an increase in the number of students who have not yet started the admission process for medical and pharmacy registration. Apart from this, medical studies are also becoming very expensive now. Therefore, B group students are also turning towards studying pharmacy.

At present, there are more than 95 colleges in the state including government, aided and private colleges which have more than five thousand seats for degree and diploma in pharmacy. At the same time, the seats in pharmacy are also increasing, with new colleges, seats are likely to increase this year as well. Many years ago there was a craze to study pharmacy but in the last few years thousands of seats in pharmacy became vacant and students took very little interest in it. But for the last 3-4 years, the number of students studying pharmacy is increasing.

This year, a record-breaking 22,500 students have registered for degree-diploma pharmacy admissions. Online registration for pharmacy started on April 9 this year. The pharmacy admission process is very long without the approval of the Pharmacy College Council. The admission schedule had to be changed three times and the registration deadline had to be extended three times to July 8. Thus, registration has been going on for three months.

Apart from this, due to the NEET exam controversy, the admission process for medical, dental, Ayurveda and homeopathy has not started yet. Therefore, many students have turned to pharmacy out of boredom. Students who are unable to get admission in good medical colleges and come from poor-middle class families are now turning to pharmacy instead of doing B.Sc. Since medical education is becoming expensive every year, now students and parents have started considering pharmacy studies as a good option.
