Bhopal, July 29 (HS). The rain continues in many parts of the state including the capital Bhopal. So far, there has been 7 percent more rain than normal. Narmada and other rivers are in spate. Water had to be released by opening the gates of many dams including Kolar, Bargi, Satpura. It has been raining lightly with fog in Bhopal since Monday morning. Temples on the banks of Shipra river in Ujjain have submerged. There is a flood in Shajapur, due to which houses and shops have been flooded. Today, Monday, there is an alert of heavy rain in 8 districts including Jabalpur.

The Meteorological Department said that due to the activity of low pressure system and monsoon trough passing through the state, there is a period of heavy rain. Heavy rain will start again due to monsoon trough and cyclonic circulation. Although the period of strong or heavy rain will stop on Tuesday, but from July 31, a strong system will be active again in the state. This will make the entire state wet. The Meteorological Department said that in the western part of the state – Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Narmadapuram, Gwalior-Chambal division, 10 percent more water has fallen than the average, while in the eastern part – Rewa, Sagar, Jabalpur and Shahdol divisions, 4 percent more rain has occurred. The districts of Jabalpur division in the eastern part – Seoni, Dindori, Chhindwara, Mandla and Balaghat have received the most rain. Bhopal division is also ahead in terms of rain.

Here, due to heavy rain on Sunday night in Shajapur, flood like situation has occurred. Here rain water has entered the houses. People did not even get a chance to recover and dirty water started entering the houses. A lot of things got damaged. Roads were flooded with water up to 4 feet. Water is flowing with a strong current in the colonies. While the small bridge of Shipra river in Ujjain has drowned. The river water is flowing three feet above the bridge. The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert in Ujjain and surrounding areas today. NDRF, SDRF and police teams are present at Ujjain's Ram Ghat. Devotees are constantly being warned about the rising water level of the river. The water level of Shipra river is continuously rising. Water has reached the temples built on the banks of the river. Some part of the temples have drowned in water.
