Due to cold wave, severe cold continues in Punjab, Faridkot is the coldest, temperature 0.9 degree Celsius.

Ludhiana: Due to cold wave, cold has started showing its effect in Punjab. On Wednesday, the minimum temperature in many districts of the state was recorded 2-3 degrees Celsius below normal. Faridkot was the coldest district in the state, where the minimum temperature was recorded at 0.9 degrees Celsius.

Apart from this, the temperature remained below 5 degrees Celsius in seven districts of Punjab. Minimum temperatures were recorded at 1.6 degrees in Pathankot, 1.5 degrees in Fazilka, 2.6 degrees in Firozpur, 3.9 degrees in Moga, 3.5 degrees in Barnala, 4.0 degrees in Gurdaspur, and 4.3 degrees in Amritsar. It was 5.5 degrees Celsius in Patiala and 5.6 degrees Celsius in Ludhiana. Talking about the maximum temperature, it was recorded between 22 to 24 degrees Celsius.

According to the Meteorological Department, Chandigarh, the cold wave is likely to continue in the state till December 25. Especially in the areas adjoining Himachal Pradesh, there may be extreme cold. However, there are no chances of rain, due to which December is also likely to remain dry like November.
