DTO office is busy preparing for the start of the second phase of the Chief Minister's Block Transport Scheme

The District Transport Office has started preparing for the second phase of the Chief Minister Block Transport Scheme, which is being run with the objective of connecting the blocks and remote panchayats to the district headquarters and providing transport facilities to the general public.

District Transport Officer Sushil Kumar informed that under this scheme, a grant of Rs 5 lakh is given to the beneficiaries by the Bihar government for purchasing the bus. He informed that after the training and awareness program of the scheme from 22 July to 31 July, the date for block wise application for the beneficiaries is fixed from 1 August to 25 August. On 27 August, the priority list will be prepared on the basis of block wise and category wise applications. On 29 August, the beneficiary will be selected by the selection committee constituted under the chairmanship of DM on the basis of the priority list prepared by the DTO. On 2 September, the list and waiting list will be published in the DTO office, in which objections will be taken within the time limit of 3 days. After which on 5 September, the final selection list will be published after the objections are resolved by the committee constituted under the chairmanship of DM.

After serving the selection letter to the selected beneficiaries by the DTO from 6th to 10th September, the date for submitting the application for getting the grant by the selected beneficiary to the DTO office after purchasing the bus continuously from 11th September is fixed. Within seven days of which, the grant amount will be paid to the beneficiary's account through CFMS.

DTO Sushil Kumar told that this scheme is excluding the blocks of the district headquarters. A maximum of seven beneficiaries per block will be given a grant of Rs. 5 lakh per bus under the scheme. He said that in the block, maximum two beneficiaries from scheduled caste, two from extremely backward class, one from backward class, one from minority class and one from general category will be given the benefit of grant.
