Mira Bhayander-Vasai Virar Police Commissioner Madhukar Pandey told reporters on Wednesday that Kashimira police arrested Abhishek Singh from Nalasopara and seized MD drug and four pistols from him. Madhukar Pandey said that after rigorous interrogation of Abhishek, on May 15, the Crime Branch arrested Shoaib Memon and Nicholas Titus from Thane Ghodbunder with drugs worth Rs 2 crore. In further investigation, the police arrested Dayanand Muddanar and Baba Genmiya Sheikh from Hyderabad and one accused from Narsapur here. 103 grams of MD powder worth Rs 20 lakh 60 thousand, 25 kg of raw MD chemical worth Rs 25 crore and other materials required to make MD were seized from them.
After this, based on the information received from Dayanand, the police arrested Dhanshyam Saroj and Mohammad Moin from Goregaon, Mumbai. MD drug worth Rs 14 lakh was seized from Moin's car. Then on May 27, the police arrested Babu Siddesh Jadhav from Thane and raw material worth Rs 53 thousand for making drugs was seized from his house. Based on the information received from these accused, the police arrested Sameel Dola from Mumbai and Zulfiqar alias Murtaza Kothari from Surat and Rs 10.84 lakh cash was seized from them. Police Commissioner Madhukar Pandey said that on the information given by these accused, the police also demolished the factory of MD drug in Kashimira area. Raw material for making MD drug worth about three hundred crores was seized from this factory.
Police Commissioner Pandey said that the investigation so far has revealed that this factory was being run by Sameel Dola at the behest of Dawood Ibrahim and the arrested accused used to talk directly to Dawood. Madhukar Pandey said that a thorough investigation of this case is underway. Police Commissioner Madhukar Pandey said that in this operation going on since May, the police has so far arrested 15 accused and seized drugs and raw material for making drugs worth Rs 327 crore 69 lakh 43 thousand from four states.
