SP Amit Ranjan has formed separate special teams for Sadar sub-division and Forbesganj sub-division area. Under which, on Wednesday, Araria police launched a campaign against drug dealers. Major action was taken.
In the action, the police arrested a businessman with smack and Rs 1 lakh 41 thousand cash. Sadar SDPO Rampukar Singh gave information about this matter in his office on Wednesday. He told that Raniganj police station received information that drug trade was being done on a large scale in the area. On information, police formed a team and raided a shop located in Raniganj market. In this raid, the police team arrested drug dealer Rakesh Kumar Manjhi. The police also seized 90 grams of smack, Rs 1 lakh 41 thousand, 9 mobile and ATM cards and a fake SIM from the businessman.
Rakesh, arrested during interrogation, told that he buys this smack from a person named Chhotu Ansari of Rajokhar market of Araria RS police station area. The police raided Rajokhar and arrested Chhotu. SDPO said that on the instructions of the Superintendent of Police, a special team has been formed in every police station of the district. Who are working against drug addiction. He told that due to it being a border area, drug trade is spreading rapidly here. Which is making the youth victims of drugs. He appealed to the common people that if anyone is found involved in such business then they should inform the police. And the police will take action against him.
Arrested Rakesh Kumar Manjhi told that he has been associated with this business for the last 4 months and a person from Rajokhar supplies smack to him. He said that a pack of smack is sold for two hundred rupees, which is used twice. He said that This is a wrong thing and I have made a big mistake by getting into it.
