Drizzling rain and hot tea: Apart from pakodas, try these 4 quick and crispy snacks, the fun of the season will double.

As soon as the rainy season starts in India, the smell of tea and pakodas starts coming from the kitchen of every house. In cold and pleasant weather, it is very natural to have a craving for something hot, crunchy and spicy. Generally people like to eat traditional pakodas of onion, potato or spinach with spicy coriander-mint chutney. But if you want to try something new and extremely tasty apart from pakodas this monsoon, then some excellent desi and fusion snacks can be prepared in a very short time. Let us know the recipes of 4 such wonderful monsoon snacks that can be made quickly.

1. Healthy Poha Tikki

During rainy days, due to humidity, it is often advised to eat light and easily digestible food. In such a situation, Poha Tikki is a great and light snack.

  • Method of preparation: For this, first of all soak the poha in water for some time and filter it. Now add boiled and mashed potatoes, finely chopped onion, green chilli, salt, red chilli powder and chaat masala.

  • Twist: Shape this mixture into small tikkis. Instead of deep frying them in a pan, ‘shallow fry’ them in very little oil on a pan. This will make the tikkis very crispy and will not be harmful to health. Serve it with green chutney.

2. Crispy Lacha Aloo Pakoda

To make potato pakodas or tikkis, there is often the hassle of boiling the potatoes first, which takes a lot of time. This monsoon, you can prepare extremely crunchy Lachha Pakoda with the help of grating without boiling potatoes.

  • Method of preparation: Peel the raw potatoes, grate them, wash them thoroughly with water and squeeze them to remove excess starch. Now add finely chopped green chillies, chilli flakes, celery, salt and a little gram flour for binding to these potato flakes.

  • Twist: Shape them into small cutlets or pakodas and fry them on a pan with light oil. Its waxy texture makes it much crispier and tastier than ordinary pakodas.

3. Restaurant Style Crispy Corn Chaat

The relationship between rain and corn is very old. Crispy Corn Chaat is a perfect and wonderful option with evening tea in this season.

  • Method of preparation: First of all, boil sweet corn (corn grains) by adding a little salt in water. After filtering the water, add red chilli, cumin powder, salt and most importantly- rice flour or cornflour Sprinkle and make a good coating. Now put them in hot oil and fry them till they become crisp.

  • Chaat Twist: Take out the fried corn in a bowl and prepare spicy crispy corn chaat by adding finely chopped onion, tomato, a little garlic, green coriander and lemon juice to it.

4. Monsoon Special ‘Cheese Samosa’

The combination of spicy potato samosas with tea is an all-time favourite, but this time you can give a modern and cheesy twist to the traditional samosas for guests or kids.

  • Method of preparation: To prepare the filling of samosas, add a little less spices than usual to the boiled potatoes and add plenty of cheese of your choice (like mozzarella or processed cheese) and a little chili cheese.

  • Twist: Now fill this cheesy stuffing in a strip of flour, give it the shape of a samosa and fry it until it turns golden. When you break a hot samosa, the melted cheese and spices coming out of it will taste amazing. Serve it hot with tomato ketchup.
