Talking about the success of the film and its ending, director Abhishek Pathak shared with the media that ending an iconic franchise like ‘Drishyam The Conclusion’ was no less than a big challenge for him. He said, “Making ‘Drishyam The Conclusion’ was a huge and huge responsibility for me, because the audience has been emotionally attached to this story and the world of its characters for so long. Every audience had their own theory, their own expectations and their own ideas about how this story should ultimately end.”
He further said that the biggest challenge for him was to respect this long journey while also giving the audience an unexpected and shocking experience which they might not have even imagined.
Director Abhishek Pathak seemed extremely overwhelmed and satisfied with the way the audience was discussing each scene and twist of the film after its release in theatres. Expressing his happiness, he said, “‘Now when I see the audience experiencing the film, debating among themselves about its climax and discussing what the lead character Vijay Salgaonkar did, it is a really satisfying feeling for me as a filmmaker.'”
Abhishek also said that the Drishyam franchise has always been based on how people see and understand ‘truth’. He finally said that as a director there can be no greater satisfaction than that when the audience walks out of the theatre, they take with them the ending of the film and its impact.
