Drinking water crisis in Gokulpur ward of Dhamtari, water tank is ready but supply has not started

Dhamtari, June 28 (HS). Due to lack of proper water supply in Gokulpur ward, the residents of the ward are facing drinking water problem. The residents of the ward are forced to ask for water from private bores installed in other people's houses. People affected by the water crisis have demanded immediate improvement in the system.

Former councilors Mahesh Sahu, Bihari Sahu, Kunjlal, Ajit Yadav, Krishna Sahu, Dwarka Dhruv, Madan Dhruv, Devnath, Joga Dhruv, Santosh Sahu, Ajit Yadav, Mohani Sahu, Tameshwari, Sohdra Bai, Dinesh Sahu, Pramila Bai, Kunti Bai said that they have informed the corporation administration about the drinking water problem many times, but no efforts are being made to solve the problem. The affected people are facing many problems for drinking water. A new overhead tank has been constructed in the ward. It has also not been started yet.

Ward's Arjun Dhruv, Tijiya Yadav, Asha Sahu, Karlabai, Bindu Sahu, Gauravti, Veena Dhrush, Kanti Yadav, Tameswari Dhruv said that there is no proper arrangement of drinking water in Gokulpur ward. Due to this, most of the residents of the ward are facing drinking water problem for a long time, although the corporation has installed tap water in the houses. But even in this, the right amount of water is not coming. The most serious drinking water problem is in Thakurpara and Akhara Gali. Due to this, other people apart from them have to wander here and there for water. The situation is such that people here are forced to quench their thirst by asking for water from private bores installed in other people's houses. If attention is not paid to this soon, then the situation is likely to become more dire in the rain.

Former councilor Mahesh Sahu, seeing the pain of the people struggling with the drinking water problem, is trying to solve it at his own level. He said that a new overhead tank is ready in the ward. If it is started, the drinking water problem prevailing in the ward will be solved forever. Regarding this, he has submitted a memorandum to CM Vishnudev Sai, who reached Dhamtari recently, on behalf of the affected ward residents, demanding the early start of the said overhead tank.

In this regard, Municipal Corporation's Water Works Incharge Kamta Nagendra said that the water tank located in Gokulpur ward of the Municipal Corporation is operational. The residents of the ward have not shifted their connection to the new line, due to which water is not available. By shifting the connection to the new line, even the houses will get water.
