Tea not only enhances taste but can also increase your lifespan. A recent research has shockingly revealed that drinking three cups of tea a day can reduce biological age. Chinese scientists believe that some powerful ingredients found in tea can help keep you young for longer.
So far, many studies have shown that black tea contains compounds that are beneficial for heart, gut, and brain health. Animal studies have also shown that compounds called flavonoids found in tea may help extend the lifespan of insects and rats.
Research
Experts from Sichuan University in Chengdu, China, analyzed data from 5,998 British people (aged 37 to 73) and 7,931 Chinese people (aged 30 to 79). They were asked about their tea drinking habits, such as what type of tea they drink (such as green, black, yellow or oolong) and how many cups they drink. The team then calculated the participants' biological age by comparing biological age markers such as blood pressure, cholesterol and body fat percentage.
research results?
Researchers found that tea drinkers showed signs of slower biological aging. Such participants were more likely to be male, drink alcohol, and have a healthy diet. They were also less likely to experience insomnia and anxiety symptoms.
