Dressed in traditional clothes, women performed the ritual of playing vermilion

Jaipur, 11 October (Hindustan Reporter). The traditional 'Sindoor Khela' ceremony of West Bengal was performed with enthusiasm and enthusiasm by Shakti Foundation, a women's organization of Jaipur, in Jaipur on Friday evening. The program started with a detailed explanation about the tradition of 'Sindoor Khela' and its importance. After which formal puja was organised. Women dressed in white saree with traditional red border of Bengal first offered vermilion with betel leaves to Maa Durga, then applied vermilion to each other and performed the ritual of 'Sindoor Khela'. For this event, eco-friendly idol of Maa Durga, traditional clothes and puja plates were specially brought from Kolkata.

During the ritual, the women one by one performed the aarti of Maa Durga and prayed for the long life of their husbands and happiness and prosperity in their home. After which the women fed each other sweets and danced. In this ritual, not only married women but also unmarried women participated enthusiastically and gave the message of mutual love and harmony. Shakti Foundation founder Sonakshi Vashishtha, co-founder Shailja Sharma and other members Heena, Anupama Aggarwal, Dr. Supriya Gupta, Nimisha Gupta, Rashmi Baheti, Shruti Luthra were present in the program.

On this occasion, Sonakshi Vashishtha, Founder of Shakti Foundation, said that like the last five years, this year also the Foundation performed the 'Sindoor Khela' ceremony with much pomp and show in Jaipur. This ritual is not only a symbol of religious faith but also shows the role and unity of women in the society. This festival provided a unique opportunity for women to gather collectively and exchange love and affection among themselves. Foundation members from Kolkata, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Ajmer and other cities of Rajasthan also participated in the program.
