Dr. Surinder Singh will be the new Vice Chancellor of Mahayogi Gorakhnath University.

Gorakhpur, 14 November (HS). Dr. Surinder Singh Mahayogi, former Vice Chancellor of JSS AHER (JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research) Mysore, Karnataka will be the new Vice Chancellor of Gorakhnath University, Gorakhpur. He has been selected by the Chancellor of the University and Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath. Dr. Singh will replace the current Vice-Chancellor, Major General Dr. Atul Vajpayee, whose tenure ended on November 14.

MBBS and MD degree holder Dr. Surinder Singh has completed his tenure as Vice Chancellor of JSS AHER Mysore on 4th November. He has also been the Drug Controller General of the Government of India. He has been Director of National Institute of Biologicals, Union Health Ministry, Director of Regional Drug Testing Lab, Additional Director in Central Drug Lab, Assistant Director of Microbiology in Central Research Institute, Assistant Professor of Microbiology in Sardar Patel Government Medical College Bikaner, AIIMS New Delhi. He has also served as Senior Demonstrator of Microbiology. Under his leadership, JSS AHER Mysore has made its place among the top 25 universities of the country. Also, he has played an important role in getting JSS AHER a research grant of Rs 55 crore in five years. In view of the services of Dr. Surinder Singh, he has been included among the World’s Most Influential People in the field of Global Pharma Industry for three consecutive years. He has been honored with many awards including Pharma Bio World Award 2011, Dr. BC Rai Memorial Award 2014, Innovation Leadership Award, Top 20 Vice Chancellor of India Award in the year 2022. Under his leadership, many national and international workshops and training programs have been successfully organized in the field of health.

Vice Chancellor of Mahayogi Gorakhnath University, Gorakhpur, Major General Dr. Atul Vajpayee, who has completed his tenure, has expressed his gratitude to Chancellor Yogi Adityanath for selecting Dr. Surinder Singh as the new Vice Chancellor and said that the long experience of Dr. Surinder Singh will make the university a new place. Will touch heights. It is noteworthy that many achievements have been achieved during the tenure of the first Vice-Chancellor of the University, Major General Dr. Atul Vajpayee. During his tenure, the university started many employment related courses including BAMS, MBBS and MoUs were signed with about three dozen reputed institutions.
