Shimla, 2 October (Hindustan Reporter). Rajya Sabha Secretary General PC Modi has constituted the new Parliamentary Committee 2024-25. In these, Rajya Sabha MPs have been appointed members of various committees. BJP's Rajya Sabha MP from Himachal Pradesh, Dr. Sikandar Kumar has been nominated as a member of two important standing committees of the Parliament.
According to the order issued in this regard, Dr. Sikandar Kumar has been nominated as a member of the Standing Committee of Education, Women and Child Development, Youth and Sports. Apart from this, Dr. Sikandar Kumar has also got a place in the Standing Committee of Health and Family Welfare.
Dr. Sikandar Kumar has been the Vice Chancellor of Himachal Pradesh University. He has long experience as an economics professor in the university. The Central Government will take advantage of Dr. Sikandar's experiences by giving him a place in important committees.
These standing committees are committees formed within the Parliament which conduct in-depth studies on matters related to a particular subject or ministry. These committees make a detailed study of the bills introduced by the government and make suggestions for improvements in them. The Standing Committee of Parliament also plays its role in resolving the deadlock between the parties and opposition on bills. The committees also suggest alternative policies for efficiency and economy in administration.
