Prayagraj, 09 June (HS). A seminar on the topic 'Role of trees in environmental protection' was held in a hotel located in Civil Line under the banner of Bharat Vikas Parishad Prayag branch. Chief guest Forest Conservator Dr. Shesh Narayan Mishra said that today the entire human race is in danger due to environmental crisis and trees have an important role in reducing this danger.
He said that trees have many benefits which need to be told to the common people. A line of trees in the locality reduces pollution by half, be it air pollution or noise pollution or any other pollution. Plant trees around the houses.
Dr Mishra said that due to development, trees are being cut continuously. This is causing continuous damage to the environment. Therefore, the greatest need is to make people aware about tree plantation on a large scale in cities and colonies. Along with planting trees, it is also necessary to save them. Plant fruit trees based on the availability of space.
Forest Conservator Dr Mishra said that planting trees is the biggest virtuous act today. In most cases, no space is left for planting trees during road widening, which is unfortunate. The role of the forest department should also be ensured in planning or development of cities. Water recharge is also needed in cities.
