New Delhi: Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar was given a warm welcome by the senior officials of his office when he reached his office to take charge after the swearing-in ceremony on Monday. This type of welcome is usually traditional. But the whole world knows the talent of this Maghavi Foreign Minister. In this way, the officials of the office also know him, so the welcome was different.
After taking charge, when journalists asked him about the main goals of the Modi-3 government, he said that India now has three main issues: (1) China (2) Pakistan and (3) permanent seat in the United Nations Security Council and there is no doubt that the Modi government will be able to solve these three issues. We know that India's influence is increasing. Not only we but the whole world knows this.
The Global South understands that India is the mouthpiece of the Global South. India's respect in the Global South has increased after the inclusion of the African Union during the G-20 summit. And the world is confident that we will fulfill the responsibility that has come upon us. Along with this, he said, in any country, especially in a democratic country, it is an important achievement for any party to be elected for the third consecutive time. The world should feel that there is a lot of political stability in India.
Regarding China and Pakistan, he said that the issues with both are different. There is a border dispute with China. A solution has to be found. Whereas the issue is of terrorism coming from across the border with Pakistan and this dispute is years old. A solution has to be found.
He further said that India's respect as a member of the world has increased. In this turbulent, divided and conflict-ridden world, in a world full of tensions, countries trust us that India will always advance their interests.
After the swearing-in ceremony, Narendra Modi met many world leaders. Among them, the leaders of the Global South were confident of the way he would present himself on the international stage. Along with the Neighbourhood-First policy, Narendra Modi wants world peace, progress and prosperity for all. Countries of the world, especially those of the Global South, have been reassured.
