Jaunpur, 01 August (HS). The last date for insurance under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana in the Kharif 2024 season has been extended from 31 July to 10 August 2024 by the Government of India, in the current Kharif season, loanee and non-loanee farmers can get their crops insured till August 10.

Giving information in this regard on Thursday, Deputy Project Director ATMA Dr. Ramesh Chandra Yadav said that loanee farmers (who have Kisan Credit Card) should contact their bank branch and if crop insurance has not been done till now, then get the insurance done by deducting two percent premium. Non-loanee farmers can get the notified crops paddy, maize, millet, sorghum, pigeon pea, urd and sesame insured by depositing the premium part payable on the crop from the nearest Common Service Center or bank branch along with their Aadhar card, self-certified crop sowing declaration form, copy of latest Khatauni, photocopy of bank passbook. Under this scheme, insurance cover/compensation is provided to the insured farmers in case of damage to the notified crops of notified areas due to adverse weather conditions.

Deputy Project Director ATMA Dr. Ramesh Chandra Yadav has appealed to all the farmer brothers of the district to take advantage of the scheme by ensuring maximum participation under the scheme.
