Dharamshala, July 11 (HS). On the occasion of World Population Day, a special meeting of Kangra District Health Department was organized on Thursday under the chairmanship of Chief Medical Officer Dr. Rajesh Guleria. District Health Officer, Dr. Rajesh Sood, Senior Medical Superintendent, District Program Officer, Block Medical Officer were present in the meeting. During this, Dr. Rajesh Guleria said that World Population Day 2024 focuses on involving everyone for sustainable development. Dr. Guleria said that the purpose of celebrating this day is to make people aware and aware about family planning, gender equality and reproductive health. He said that World Population Day is an annual event, which is celebrated every year on July 11. This day was established to raise awareness about the major issues related to global population growth and its impact on development and sustainability. Dr. Tarun Sood, District Program Officer, while giving detailed information about the theme of World Population Day 2024 “New identity of developed India, family planning is the pride of every couple”, said that this theme ensures that everyone is properly represented in numbers, regardless of their background, nationality, geography or socio-economic status. Population Day is an important occasion that makes us aware of the rapidly increasing population and the challenges associated with it and there is a need to pay serious attention to family planning issues. The government has launched many schemes to control population growth.

Health department held monthly meeting
Monthly review meeting of District Kangra Health Department was held under the chairmanship of Dr. Rajesh Guleria, Chief Medical Officer
The meeting was held in the office of the Chief Medical Officer. In this meeting, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Rajesh Guleri gave the Best Block Award to Dr. Ruby Bhardwaj, Block Medical Officer, Medical Block, Nagarota Bagwan for better sanitation system and service standards being provided to the health institutions of District Kangra. He also congratulated all the departmental officers and employees on the commendable performance of District Kangra under the Kayakalp program. Dr. Guleri said that District Kangra has received an incentive amount of 64 lakhs, in which District Hospital Dharamshala got the second prize and a sum of 15 lakhs in the first category, Civil Hospital Palampur got a prize of 10 lakhs. Community Health Center Beed won the first award in the second category. In this, Beed also won the award in the eco-friendly theme. Beed received a prize of 12 lakhs which is commendable.

In this way, in the third category, PHC Sarimolang Block Mahakal got the first place in the district. And Health Wellness Center Thodablue, Nurpur Health Block got the first place in the district. A total of 24 Primary Health Centers and 44 Health Wellness Centers have won this award in District Kangra. Chief Medical Officer Kangra Dr. Rajesh Guleri while congratulating all the participants said that the result of District Kangra is commendable and the level of patient satisfaction has also improved under these schemes. He said that efforts will be made to keep it better in future as well. On this occasion, District Health Officer Dr. Rajesh Sood, District Program Officer Dr. Tarun Sood, Dr. Vandana and other officers were present.
