Varanasi, 26 April (HS). Associate Prof. Dr. Ghalib of All India Institute of Ayurveda, New Delhi, on Thursday inspected the Institute of Applied Dermatology (IAD) center operated at Government Ayurveda Hospital, Chowkaghat and inquired about the condition of filariasis patients.
He met patients Indu Devi and Rajesh Prasad of Teliabagh, Lilavati of Mahmoorganj, Veeru Pal of Railway Colony Rajghat and Radheshyam of Phulwaria and went to their homes and inquired about their treatment. All the patients explained in detail about the changes in life brought about by proper care of filariasis affected organs and regular yoga.
Dr. Ghalib said that the Institute of Applied Dermatology (IAD) is making every possible effort to ease the lives of serious patients who have been living with unbearable pain due to filariasis (elephantiasis) for years. The organization engaged in the treatment of filariasis patients with the integrated method of Ayurveda, Allopathy and Yoga has started treatment centers in Varanasi and Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Regular exercise not only reduces swelling but also prevents acute attacks.
Dr. Guru Prasad of IAD organization said that till now 222 filariasis patients have been treated from the Varanasi center which was started on March 5 last year.
