New Delhi/Patna, 12 August (HS). Dr. Birbal Jha, Managing Director (MD) of British Lingua, the country's reputed institute in the field of spoken English, said that today English has been established in our country not only as a language but also as a skill. By improving this skill, the youth as well as people of every class can touch new heights of progress in their lives.

Addressing the seminar “Skill as a Passport of Prosperity for Today's Youth” organized on Monday at the Boring Road Center of British Lingua in Patna, the capital of Bihar, on the occasion of 'World Youth Day', Dr. Jha said that today you will find many graduates, post graduates etc. unemployed with higher degrees sitting at home around you, who will be blaming their fate and the government for their failure, but you will hardly have seen any carpenter, barber, electrician, beautician, fitter, builder etc. roaming around unemployed. He said that I can tell from my personal experience that I have removed the unemployment of lakhs of such less educated, less degree holders by teaching them to speak English in my 30 years of teaching life.

Bihar's renowned social entrepreneur Dr. Jha said that the only way to eliminate unemployment and poverty in an industry-less state like Bihar is to develop the skills of the youth, make them skilled and motivate them for self-employment. He said that now the time has gone when people used to achieve success in life by acquiring general degrees. Today is the era of technology. In this era, without any special skill, forget about success, it becomes difficult to even get a decent job to earn a living. In such a situation, everyone needs to improve their skills. Today, all kinds of skill training facilities are available. But among these, spoken English is of the highest importance.

Renowned author Dr. Birbal Jha, while discussing especially the spoken English skill, said that in today's race, any person can easily overcome his unemployment by learning to speak English. While also discussing various forms of art, sports etc., Birbal Jha said that the performance of our country India with a population of 140 crores was disappointing in the Paris Olympics. If we had also adopted sports as a skill like countries like China, America, England, France, Germany, Australia etc., then sports would have been a means of income and prosperity from personal and national point of view.

Dr. Prabhat Jha, Associate Professor of English at Patna Women's College, who was present in this seminar, also addressed the seminar. On this occasion, the students of British Lingua also performed various programs of song, dance and music. Dozens of participants entertained the teachers and students present with their performances.
