DPO and DEO flagged off awareness rally on International Literacy Day | News India

Kishanganj, 09 September (HS). Under the guidance of Women and Child Development Corporation and District Program Officer ICDS Ajmal Khurshid, an awareness rally was organized among the girl students of Balika Uchcha Vidyalaya Dumaria under the two-day program on the occasion of International Literacy Day under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme.

The rally started from the Collectorate Campus and went to the Balika Uchcha Vidyalaya, Dumriya via the One Stop Center. Many slogans were raised by the girl students including, we will study and teach and make a literate India, we will light lamp from lamp and make a literate society, literacy awakens us and saves us from exploitation, save daughters and educate daughters, the country will progress only when every child will study, nutrition as well as education, capable women, empowered India and many such slogans were raised by the girl students.

District Education Officer Mohammad Zafar Alam said that literacy has mainly three dimensions. First is reading, second is writing and third is calculation of mathematics used in daily life. If a person has mastered all these three dimensions, then understand that he has become literate. Being literate will not only raise the standard of living but society and nation will also progress.

DPO ICDS Ajmal Khurshid said that today on the occasion of Literacy Day, we should all take a pledge that at least no one in our family should remain illiterate. Life without education is like darkness. Shahbaz Alam of District Mission Coordination told that detailed information was given about 21st century skills, teaching skills, critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and communication, literacy skills, media and technology skills, life skills. In the said rally, teachers, teachers and hundreds of girl students of Balika Uchcha Vidyalaya Dumriya, along with the staff of One Stop Center and DHEW were present.
