BJP state president cum former chief minister Babulal Marandi attended the meeting of Jama assembly level workers at the residence of BJP worker Ashok Mandal at Mahro Chowk in Jama block. During this period, dozens of workers of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, JKLM and RJD joined BJP and BJP state president Marandi garlanded them all and gave them membership of the party.
Those who took membership included RJD Tribal Cell President Baburam Hansda, District President Ajja Anuplal Marandi, workers Akash Marandi, Somlal Murmu, Raju Murmu, Shivdhan Murmu, Manish Marandi. Those who joined BJP from JMM included Isaac Murmu, Sanjay Murmu, Harikrishna Manjhi, Rajkumar Manjhi, Sitaram Murmu, Sardesh Manjhi, Rajmahal Raut, Ajit Kumar, Mangal Murmu, Kadru Tudu, Birendra Thandar etc. Whereas JKLM's Rajendra Murmu, Lukhiram Hembram, Dilip Baski, Mukesh Murmu, Ruby Lal Tudu, Raghon Murmu, Binod Biski, Laxman Murmu, Ranjit Hembram, Kuldeep Murmu, Kishan Murmu etc. took membership of BJP. During this, while addressing the workers, he said that the people have made up their mind for change. Taking aim at the government, Hemant Soren said that it is very important to implement NRC to save the existence of tribals in the state and to stop infiltration. He said that under the patronage of JMM-Congress in the state, Bangladeshi infiltrators are being given protection and their illegal documents are being prepared, which is a sign of serious danger for the state. Babulal Marandi expressed concern about the decreasing population of tribals. Presenting the 1951 census data, he expressed concern over the declining population of tribals. Said that the tribal population in the state was 36 percent. Presently this has reduced to 26 percent in 2011 census. At the same time, the population of Muslims has increased from 9 percent to about 14.5 percent. Said that today the population of Hindus in the state has also decreased by about 7 percent from 88 percent to 81. percent. Babulal Marandi said that the population of Santhal tribal community has decreased by 16 percent in 6 districts including Sahibganj, Pakur, Dumka, Godda and Jamtara. At the same time, the population of Muslims has increased by 13. percent. In Sahibganj and Pakur the number of Muslims increased the most by 35 percent.
