Penalty for not fixing fast tag on vehicles: If you are planning to travel by your car then this news is very important for you. If you show even a little carelessness while traveling in a car on the highway, then the burden on your pocket can increase. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has implemented new rules for taxes applicable at toll plazas. Under which, people who have not installed Fastag in their vehicles will have to pay double the toll tax. For which a guideline has also been issued by NHAI.

NHAI issued notification

People deliberately do not put FASTag on the windscreen of their cars and other vehicles. Taking a tough stand on this, NHAI has implemented a new rule for FASTag. Now those who deliberately do not put FASTag on the windscreen will be charged more tax. A notification has been issued in this regard, which states that due to the absence of FASTag on the windscreen, there is a delay in billing at the toll plaza. Due to which other vehicles standing in the queue also face problems. In view of which the authority has issued an SOP in this regard. In which it has been decided to charge double the tax for not putting FASTag on the windscreen.

Monitoring will be done through CCTV

NHAI will put up information about this new rule at all toll plazas. This will inform careless drivers and double toll tax will be levied on violators and the registration number will be recorded through CCTV footage, which will help in maintaining a record of the vehicle violating the rules.

Banks also gave instructions

Banks issuing FASTag have also been informed about the new rule and have been instructed to ensure that the issued FASTag is mandatorily affixed on the windscreen by the driver. NHAI aims to enforce the rules by issuing notifications to install FASTags on the inside of the front windshield and impose fines on violators.
