You will only need these things kept in the kitchen
For this you do not need to bring anything special from the market. All you need is 3-4 red tomatoes, 2 medium onions, some garlic cloves, 2-3 dried red chillies (depending on the spiciness), some gram dal (to enhance the flavour) and mustard-curry leaves for tempering.
Very easy way to make it (Recipe Steps)
- Sauté: First of all, heat some oil in a pan. Add one spoon of gram dal and urad dal in it. When it becomes light golden, add dry red chilli, garlic and coarsely chopped onion. Fry the onion until it turns light pink.
- Tomato Magic: Now add chopped tomatoes to it. Also add salt so that the tomatoes melt quickly. Cook it until the tomatoes become completely mushy. Turn off the gas and let the mixture cool.
- Grind: Put the cooled mixture in a mixer and make a smooth paste without adding water (or with very little water). The color will be so beautiful that you will feel like eating it right away.
- The real taste is in the ‘tadka’: Now it’s time to do the step which is the life of this chutney- Tadka! Heat oil in a pan, crackle mustard seeds and add curry leaves and a pinch of asafoetida. Pour this hot tadka over the chutney.
