Devshayani Ekadashi rules: Eleven fasts have special significance in Hinduism. This fast is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Fasting and worshipping on the day of Ekadashi brings special blessings of Shri Hari. Ekadashi fast is observed twice a month, first in Shukla Paksha and second in Krishna Paksha. According to the belief of Hinduism, on the day of Devpodhi Agiyaras, Lord Vishnu goes to rest in Kshir Sagar for four months and wakes up on the day of Devutthi Agiyaras of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month. According to the scriptures, Lord Shiva nurtures the world in these four months. According to the Panchang, Ekadashi will start on July 16 at 8:33 pm and end on July 17 at 9:2 pm. This time the time for Palan can be done from 5:35 am to 8:44 am on July 18.

– According to the scriptures, due to the importance of Devpodi Agiyaras, special attention is paid to food on this day. Rice should not be consumed even by mistake on this day. Also, donation of rice is also considered forbidden.
– Along with this, one should also avoid tamasic food like onion, garlic etc. on this day. Do not eat meat even by mistake.
– According to astrology, worshipping Lord Vishnu on this day brings auspicious results and provides freedom from sins.
– Lord Vishnu should be worshipped with Tulsi leaves because Tulsi leaves are very dear to Lord Shri Hari. Also, Tulsi leaves should not be plucked on Ekadashi day
– To maintain the dignity of this fast, one should observe celibacy on the day of Devshayani Ekadashi. Also, one should control anger.
