Donald Trump’s Big Claim: Trade deal with India soon, America will benefit from this

The world is eyeing the trade agreement between India and the US. Former US President Donald Trump has given important indications about this possible agreement. According to Trump, a trade agreement with India is underway and may be signed soon. He insisted that the agreement will prove to be very beneficial for the US. At a press conference held on the statement of the US and the US’s vision, Trump said, “India is originally working in this direction.” We will get access to India. You have to understand that we did not reach any of these countries. Our people could not go there and now we are getting there. This is what we are doing through tariffs. Trump suggested that the proposed trade agreement with India could be similar to the agreement with Indonesia. Significantly, Indonesia has agreed to give a full access to American products in its market. In turn, the US has agreed to impose 19% tariffs on Indonesian goods. In addition, Indonesia has also committed to buy $ 15 billion energy from the US, $ 4.5 billion agricultural products and 50 boing jets. According to Trump, this agreement will give America better access to the Indian market. Possible challenges for India, however, are also expressing concerns in India about this possible deal. Commenting on Trump’s statement, the founder of Global Trade Research Initiative (GTRI) Ajay Srivastava said that if India accepts such a unbalanced agreement, its domestic sector, especially dairy and agriculture, can come into contact with the duty-free American goods. In return, India will have little profit. Srivastava warned that, “A bad agreement with India without mutual profit, can be worse than not having any agreement. Therefore, India should interact in a transparent manner, avoid unilateral results and not to compromise long -term economic interests under pressure from symbolic agreements.” The fifth round of talks starts between the fifth round of (BTTE). This is currently in America for talks. The visit of this team of the Indian Ministry of Commerce is very important as both sides are trying to compromise in areas like agriculture. This tour is also important because the US has postponed additional fees on several countries including India till 1 August. It is expected that in this dialogue, a mutually beneficial route may be found for both countries.
