US Presidential Election 2024: Former US President Donald Trump seems to be changing the election environment. Earlier he was taking an aggressive stance on issues. Now his stance on such issues seems to be soft. In a media interview, he said, 'I want foreign students who graduate from American colleges to get automatic green cards.'
Donald Trump's changed stance
Donald Trump opposed the entry of immigrants into the US. His latest statement is completely against his stance. Trump accused immigrants living illegally in the US of committing crimes, stealing jobs and government resources. He had promised during the election campaign that if elected, he would lead the largest deportation campaign in American history. Thus, Trump suddenly moved away from the campaign against outsiders.
In an interview, Donald Trump said, “What I want to do and what I will do is that as soon as you graduate from an American college, you should get a green card to stay in America along with the degree.” This will also include junior colleges. I will start working on this from the first day of becoming the President. That is, if Trump wins the election, then it can prove beneficial for students studying or going to America in the future. Because getting an American green card is considered a difficult task.
Indian students in America
Every year thousands of students from India go to America for higher education. According to the data of 2023, about two lakh Indian students are doing graduation and post graduation from America. India ranks second among the citizens taking the highest number of green cards in America. According to a survey, about 65,960 people have taken the US Green Card in 2022.
