Donald Trump Hush Money Case: Former US President Donald Trump has been convicted in the secret money case. After a two-day hearing on the case, a 12-member jury found him guilty on all 34 charges.
This is the first time in the history of America that this has happened
This is the first time in US history that a current or former president has been criminally prosecuted. Donald Trump was charged with 34 counts of concealing payments to porn star Stormy Daniels in exchange for her silence before the 2016 presidential election and tampering with Trump's own business records. He has been found guilty on all these charges.
Trump denied the allegations
Trump has denied all charges of document tampering. He has also denied having sex with Stormy Daniels. Now Justice Juan Marchen will announce his punishment on July 11. The verdict against Trump will come at a time when the Republican National Convention is about to begin on July 15, in which the party will formally announce Trump's name as its presidential candidate.
I am innocent: Trump
“We have done nothing wrong,” Trump said outside the courtroom. “I am an innocent man. We will fight. We will fight till the end and we will win. The people of the country will make the right decision on November 5. This was a difficult decision from the beginning.” Trump can be sentenced to a maximum of four years in this case. But even after going to jail, he cannot be stopped from campaigning for the presidential election while in jail, nor can he be stopped from taking the oath of office in case of victory.
What is the matter?
Donald Trump had physical relations with Stormy Daniels in 2006. This matter was much discussed during the 2016 presidential election. Stormy was threatening to make this incident public, after which Trump made a secret payment to her. Trump has been accused of manipulating business records to hide the payment of $130,000 made to Daniels.
