Dog Licking: If your dog also licks your face then be careful, it can take your life

New Delhi: Dog Licking Face: If you have a pet dog then you can understand how happy he is to see you after being away from you the whole day. Eager to meet you, they jump towards you, wag their tails, try to jump on you and lick your face. Pets lick your face to show their affection or get your attention. However, some people like this habit of their pet, while others do not want to let their pet lick their face for fear of infection. However, face licking is a natural behavior of dogs. They lick their mouths repeatedly when they are scared or upset. Sometimes they lick your face or hand to acknowledge your feelings but this innocent gesture can also be dangerous for you. Sometimes different types of bacteria can enter your body through dogs' saliva and cause infection.

Many types of germs are found in the mouth of dogs, which are usually not dangerous for humans, but in some cases they can cause zoonotic disease, i.e. disease spread from animals to humans. Dogs sniff or lick many things, such as feces, which can lead to many health problems.

Not only by licking but sometimes even by cutting or scratching them, infection can occur. Licking the face can also cause life-threatening problems like sepsis and meningitis. Therefore, while loving your stomach, you should also take some precautions.

Not only this, sometimes pets can also get infected from you. Pollution, skin care and facial makeup can be very harmful to your dog. Many makeup and skin care products can cause problems for dogs. Dirt accumulated on the skin due to pollution can also make your stomach sick. Therefore, you should always be careful with these, so that both your stomach and health remain better.

What precautions should be taken?

    • Do not allow your pet to lick any wounds, blisters or cuts.
    • Also clean other things present on the floor of your house so that there is no infection of bacteria etc.
    • Always keep their eating utensils separate and clean.
    • Don't let them lick anything from outside, especially feces or litter. Due to this they can become carriers of diseases.
    • Always clean your hands and feet thoroughly before playing with them.
    • Get dewormed every three to four months and get vaccinated on time.
    • Get a brush to clean their mouth or give them a raw bone. This cleans the dirt from their teeth. However, don't give them solid bones.
  • Teach your dog not to lick your face, especially the eyes, nose, ears and mouth.
