Always keep in mind that only green Durva with three or five leaves should be offered to Bappa, which is called ‘Durvankur’. It is always placed at the feet of the Lord or on His head, never at His feet. When steamed modaks made of rice flour or maida and filled with coconut-jaggery mixture are offered to Bappa, He becomes pleased and bestows the boon of Riddhi-Siddhi and opulence to His devotees. These seven things include Durva, Modak, red flowers, vermilion, sacred thread, modak or laddu as well as banana pair (fruit offering) and a lump of Durva. Banana fruit is always offered in pairs, which is considered a symbol of happiness and prosperity in the form of a couple.
