Don't go to funerals
People should not go to funerals wearing Tulsi garlands or go to the cremation ground wearing Tulsi garlands. If they have to go, they should take it off and immerse it in Ganga water and then attend the funeral. Also, after coming back, cut your nails, wash your hair and take a bath and if you are a man, change your clothes. After this, purify yourself by drinking Ganga water and wear Tulsi garlands.

Do not consume meat
A person wearing Kanthi Mala should not consume Tamasic things. Wearing Kanthi Mala and eating Tamasic or meat is an insult to Tulsi Mala and can lead to sin. If you have to eat meat or fish or go to a place where meat and fish are eaten, then you should not wear Tulsi Mala.

Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption
Along with eating meat and fish, people who wear Tulsi beads should also avoid consuming alcohol and cigarettes. Wearing a kanthi or mala means purity of body and mind. Apart from this, cigarettes and alcohol are considered impure in Sanatan Dharma. In such a situation, if you go to a bar or consume alcohol wearing a Tulsi garland, then it also insults Lord Vishnu, Maa Lakshmi and Tulsi Mata.
