According to the Hindu calendar, the month of Phalgun is the last month of the year and after it the month of Chaitra begins. Chaitra month has started from 27th March and will end on 23rd April. According to the scriptures, Lord Brahma created the universe in this month. Chaitra month has special significance in Hindu religion because many big festivals like Navratri, Ram Navami, Papamochini Ekadashi, Hanuman Jayanti etc. also fall during this period. What not to do in Chaitra month:
Tamasic and non-vegetarian food: One should avoid consuming Tamasic or non-vegetarian food in the month of Chaitra. It is said that eating such food during Chaitra displeases Goddess Lakshmi, which leads to financial problems.
Consumption of Jaggery: Consumption of jaggery should also be avoided in this month. Jaggery is hot in nature and its consumption in summer can be harmful for health.
Cutting hair and nails: Cutting hair is considered taboo in the month of Chaitra. It is believed that cutting hair in this month can worsen the financial condition of the house and create domestic problems. Similarly, try not to cut nails during this month. If it is necessary to cut nails, then cut them only on Thursday and at night.
According to astrology, fights at home should be avoided in the month of Chaitra. Husband and wife should avoid any kind of argument or dispute between themselves. It is believed that the woman of the house represents Goddess Lakshmi, so any kind of argument in this month can anger her.
