Tamil Nadu DMK leader and Transport Minister S.S. Sivasankar has created a controversy by making an objectionable statement about Lord Ram.
Shiv Shankar said there is no proof of the existence of Lord Rama. At an event in Ariyalur, Shiv Shankar claimed that it was everyone's duty to celebrate the rule of Rajendra Chaula (Rajendra I of the Chaula dynasty). Shiv Shankar said there is evidence to prove the life and existence of Rajendra Chaula but there is no proof of the existence of Ram. A lake and temple built by Chaula descendants survive. His name is mentioned in inscriptions. His statues also exist. We all should celebrate the birth anniversary of Rajendra Chaula, the great king of the Chaula dynasty. He has made our India proud. If we do not celebrate it then people will be forced to celebrate a festival that has nothing to do with him.
DMK's hatred and obsession towards Ram is strange: BJP leader
Tamil Nadu BJP President K. Annamalai strongly criticized the controversial statement of DMK leader Shivshankar. He questioned the DMK leader's passion for Lord Ram. He said that the hatred and passion for Ram in DMK is strange.
How can anyone think like this? How quickly has the memory of DMK leaders faded? These are the same people who opposed PM Modi for installing the Sengoal of the Chaul dynasty in the Parliament premises. Lord Ram was a pioneer and supporter of social justice.
