DM started National Deworming Day by feeding Albendazole tablets to school children | News India

East Champaran, September 04 (HS). District Magistrate Saurabh Jorwal on Wednesday started the National Deworming Day by feeding Albendazole medicine to the children of Jeevan International School located at Singhia Hiban in Motihari city.

On the occasion, he said that worms affect the health of children due to which the physical and mental development of children gets obstructed. To prevent this, children are being given medicine on the occasion of National Deworming Day. For the children who missed out on this, deworming medicine will be given again on September 11 on the mop-up day in all government/private schools and Anganwadi centers.

He told that children may have mild side effects by taking medicine, do not panic, Rapid Response Team has been arranged at district and block level. Mild side effect means that the worms in your body are getting eliminated. The District Magistrate appealed to all the parents to give deworming medicine to all the children. DIO Dr. Sharat Chandra Sharma said that first of all it is to be kept in mind that the child is completely healthy and should not be on an empty stomach. The program was inaugurated by DM Saurabh Jorwal and DCC Sameer Saurabh by lighting the lamp. On the occasion, founder of Jeevan International School Mahesh P Shrivastava, Umresh Devi and President Jeevan Prakash welcomed the DM, DDC and the officials present.

Asha coordinator Nandan Jha said that 31 lakh 75 thousand 456 children in the age group of 01 to 19 years in the district will be given Albendazole medicine under the supervision of health workers as per different doses. DDC Sameer Saurabh, Banjaria CO Rohan Singh, DIO Dr SC Sharma, DPM Thakur Vishwamohan, DCM Nandan Jha, DAM, DPC, MOIC, Jeevan Prakash of Private School Association, manager Swarnim Srivastava, UNICEF, Piramal, Sifar NDD coordinator, teacher Rajesh Srivastava, Aman Gautam, Swarnim Srivastava and others were present on the occasion.
