Dehradun, 09 May (HS). Devotees have started gathering at Kedarnath Dham. Thousands of people are reaching Dham to witness the opening of the doors of Baba Kedar temple. The doors of the Dham will open at 7 am on Friday, May 10. In such a situation, District Magistrate Sonika and Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Singh inspected the registration and transit camp of Chardham Yatra and examined the arrangements. After talking to the passengers, also inquire about their well-being.
The District Magistrate directed the concerned officials to ensure that there is no inconvenience to the passengers. He told that there are 4000 slots daily from Rishikesh. The token system has been shifted to ISBT, so that there is no crowd at the registration counter. Adequate shade, drinking water, toilets and waiting rooms have been arranged at the counters. He instructed to make arrangements in the nearest school, college, vending point, Dharamshala for the arrival of more passengers than the slot number. Free arrangements have been made to stay at Sunrise Wedding Point on Dehradun Road along with Bharat Mandir Inter College and nearby schools and colleges.
Police keep a close watch on security, passengers also need to be alert
Senior Superintendent of Police Dehradun Ajay Singh said that proper arrangements have been made for the Chardham Yatra in collaboration with the administration. Police are keeping a close watch from security point of view but passengers also need to be cautious. Traffic arrangements will be made according to the traffic pressure. At present the traffic is moving fine. If necessary, diversion will also be done.
