Jhansi, June 27 (HS). FPO plays an important role in increasing the income of farmers. The FPO formed in the district is motivating the farmers of its area for organized farming, helping them in getting a fair price for their crops as well as increasing their income. Departmental officers should also come forward and support them. District Magistrate Avinash Kumar expressed the above sentiments while reviewing the work of FPO held in the Vikas Bhawan auditorium. The District Magistrate reprimanded Mandi Secretary Chirgaon and directed to immediately issue the farmer's license.
While directing various departmental officers present in the meeting, he said that the FPO formed in the area should be given point-wise information of the departmental schemes so that the schemes can be widely publicized and farmers can take advantage of the schemes. The District Magistrate, while teaching the officers a lesson of responsibility, said that just forming an FPO is not enough. FPO should be given all possible help only then the farmers will be able to benefit from farming. Apart from this, the process of issuing licenses to them should also be completed on time.
In order to promote, strengthen and financially enable agricultural producer organizations, the District Magistrate directed to run a campaign for license of agricultural inputs – fertilizer, seeds, agricultural protection chemicals, Mandi license, GST license, FSSI license for the manufacture and sale of processed / value-added food products and market linkage.
In the meeting, Sandeep Kumar Reza of Soil and Crop Health Protection Firm Producer informed that the file for the license is submitted to the Mandi Secretary Chirgaon but the license has not been issued even after two years. The District Magistrate expressed displeasure over this and immediately directed the Mandi Secretary Chirgaon to issue the said license today itself and inform him otherwise strict action will be taken. He advised not to make any kind of excuse.
Chief Development Officer Junaid Ahmed, Deputy Agriculture Director MP Singh, CO City Ramveer Singh, DDM NABARD Bhupesh Pal, District Agriculture Officer KK Singh, Executive Engineer Betwa Umesh Kumar, Subject Matter Expert Deepak Kushwaha and departmental officers were present in the meeting.
