Djokovic reached the quarterfinals of Shanghai Open for the 10th time

Serbia's Novak Djokovic showed excellent coordination and baseline play by defeating Roman Safiulin to enter the quarterfinals of the Shanghai Masters ATP men's tennis tournament for the 10th time.

Djokovic, the record four-time champion in Shanghai, kept alive his hopes of winning the 100th tour-level title of his career by defeating his opponent 6-3, 6-2. If he becomes champion, he will become the first player in the Open era after Jimmy Connors and Roger Federer to achieve this feat. Third seed Carlos Alcaraz defeated Gael Monfils 6–4. 7-5 to reach the last-8 spot. Russian Daniil Medvedev defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas 7-6 (7-3), 6-3 after reaching a first-set tiebreaker. John Sinner continued his campaign with a 6-4, 7-6 (7-1) win over British 16th seed Ben Shelton. At one point, Tsitsipas got into an argument with chair umpire Ferguson Murphy.
