Diwali Muhurta Trading: This year most people are still confused about which day Diwali will be celebrated. However, everyone from Ayodhya Temple Trust to Vishwa Hindu Parishad believes that Diwali will be celebrated on October 31 only. Meanwhile, Diwali holiday in the stock market will be on Friday, November 1 and like every year, there will be 'Muhurat Trading' on the same day. On October 31, the stock market will trade like a normal day. NSE and BSE have fixed the date of 'Muhurat Trading' on the special occasion of Diwali as 1 November 2024. This Diwali special session will run from 6 to 7 pm. Let us tell you that every year on the occasion of Diwali, the stock market opens for one hour and special trading takes place. It marks the beginning of the new year, Samvat 2081 according to the Hindu calendar.

What has BSE said?
According to the official website of BSE, Muhurta trading will take place on 01 November 2024 (Diwali- Lakshmi Puja). Muhurta trading timings will be informed later. BSE has also said that it may make changes in the holidays offered on the exchange, for which a separate circular will be issued in advance.

What is Muhurat Trading?
Muhurat trading takes place on the occasion of Diwali, a major festival for Indian investors. Many traders believe that Muhurta trading brings good luck for the coming year. Regular stock trading remains closed during the festival. Muhurta trading remains open for one hour. This tradition of Muhurta trading has been going on in the stock market for 68 years. The sectors you can trade during Muhurat trading include Equity, Equity Derivatives, Securities Lending and Borrowing (SLB), Currency Derivatives, Commodity Derivatives and Electronic Gold Receipts (EGR).
