Diwali gift! Petrol becomes cheaper by Rs 4.69 and diesel by Rs 4.45, benefit to drivers

Good news for you before Diwali. Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) said in a post on internet media platform X that the company is improving dealer margins. This will not have any additional impact on the retail price of the products. At present dealers are given a commission of Rs 1868.14 per kiloliter on petrol. The biggest benefit will be to Odisha and Chhattisgarh where the prices of petrol and diesel will be reduced by Rs 4.

Rationalization of inter-state freight movement by state-owned oil companies has led to reduction in prices of petrol and diesel in many remote areas of states like Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Himachal Pradesh. After resolving the matter pending for 7 years, the companies have increased the commission paid to dealers on the sale of petrol and diesel by 65 paise per liter and on diesel by 44 paise per liter. Because the company said that the increase in dealer commission will improve customer service standards and increase benefits for the employees working at petrol pumps. The company said it has started rationalizing interstate freight movement, which will reduce retail price variations within states. However, this deduction will not be applicable in states where the Model Code of Conduct is in force. Petroleum Minister Hardeep Puri has described the announcement made by the companies as a Dhanteras gift.

Petrol and diesel prices will reduce in many parts of the country
Hardeep Puri wrote on Twitter, “The gift given by oil companies to petrol pump dealers on the auspicious occasion of Dhanteras is heartily welcomed. The demand pending for seven years has been fulfilled.” He said that rationalizing freight movement will benefit customers living in remote locations (far from petrol and diesel depots of oil marketing companies), resulting in increased movement of goods. The prices of petrol and diesel will reduce in many parts of the country.
