For the first time in history, New York schools will be closed on Diwali. There will be Diwali holiday in schools tomorrow on 1st November. There is a celebratory atmosphere in Texas too. One reason is that for the first time people will be able to legally purchase fireworks in Harris County, Texas. The Harris County Commissioners Court upheld the change in September after a 2023 state law declaring Diwali a 'firework-eligible holiday.'
