Fatehpur, 22 April (HS). On Monday, a joint team of mines and transport officers under the chairmanship of District Magistrate C. Indumati conducted a surprise inspection against illegal Maurang mining and transportation in Adhawal Block 1 of Sadar Tehsil of the district. During inspection, illegal mining was found outside the area allotted by the lease operator. Action was taken against 16 vehicles and seized.
Additional District Magistrate Avinash Tripathi said that during surprise inspection, the total quantity of sand found outside the area approved by the lease holder was 1341 gm. Found to be transporting illegal mining. The boundary pillars were not found maintained during inspection. PT Z. Camera not found operational/functional.
Vehicles laden with minerals were checked on the way to the mining area, in which a total of 18 vehicles were found to be transported without transport forms. On the spot, the drivers of two vehicles told that the loading of Balu Maurang has been done from Adhawal Composite-1. The drivers of the remaining 14 vehicles fled leaving the vehicles behind. The above 16 vehicles were handed over to the custody of Police Station Officer Lalauli who was present on the spot.
He gave a strict warning to all the mining lease holders of the district and said that under no circumstances should they do illegal mining of sand outside the approved mining lease area. Otherwise, a case will be registered and strict action will be taken.
During the inspection, Deputy District Magistrate Sadar along with the revenue team and Police Area Officer, Jafarganj, Mine Officer, Mine Inspector, Police Station Head Lalauli and Transport Department PTO Fatehpur were present.
