Hamirpur, 09 April (HS). On Tuesday, the District Magistrate has expressed strong dissatisfaction regarding the accidents involving fire in crops due to short circuit in the district. Giving a strong rebuke, he said in clear words that strict action will be taken against the Executive Engineer Electrical and the concerned officer. Apart from this, compensation for the loss of crops in Agrikand will also be provided.
District Magistrate (DM) Rahul Pandey was holding a meeting in the Collectorate meeting hall here on Tuesday regarding the preparations being made by the departments to prevent heatwave and drought. While giving instructions, he said that to protect the crops from fire, changes should be made in the roster of power supply. According to the geographical location of Hamirpur district, every year from April to June, heat wave conditions prevail due to the temperature exceeding 40°C. In view of possible drought and heat wave, the following instructions were given by the District Magistrate to the officers present in the department-wise meeting. The District Magistrate directed the Chief Medical Officer, Hamirpur to set up ORS counters in the hospital and reserve additional beds for the people affected by heat wave.
In view of the Lok Sabha elections, availability of ORS at polling stations and medical teams at meetings will be ensured to protect against heat wave. All necessary arrangements for the treatment of patients suffering from heat wave should be made in adequate quantity at all health centres. All ANM, ASHA, Anganwadi workers should be trained regarding do's and don'ts to prevent heat stroke and they should be provided with ORS and they should make the general public aware in their work areas.
All repairs and repair work of closed big hand pumps in Gram Panchayat and city areas should be completed and made functional and complaints related to drinking water received at the drinking water control room number 05282.298176 established in the District Panchayat Raj Officer's office should be resolved immediately. In rural areas, the work of filling ponds and ponds through government tube wells and private tube wells and the work of rebar and repair of damaged hand pumps should be done as soon as possible.
