Katihar, September 19 (HS). A review meeting of the Aspiring District/Block Program was held under the chairmanship of the District Magistrate on Thursday in the NIC auditorium located in the Collectorate. In this meeting, the progress of the indices related to the NITI Aayog was reviewed in detail and necessary guidelines were given to the concerned departments.
The District Magistrate reviewed the progress of the indices of health, nutrition, education, agriculture, livelihood and basic infrastructure sector. Giving important guidelines to the officials of all the concerned departments, he said that necessary steps should be taken for saturation of the selected indices under the Aspiring District/Block Program.
The District Magistrate appreciated the achievements of the aspiring block Kursela and directed other blocks to achieve 100% target in all the indices by the end of this month. He said that there is a need to pay special attention to tasks such as ANC check-up of all pregnant women, vaccination of children, distribution of THR to pregnant women and providing funds to Jeevika.
Civil Surgeon, District Planning Officer, Nodal Officer NITI Aayog, District Program Officer ICDS, District Program Officer (Education) and District Manager Health Committee along with other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
The aim of the Aspiring District/Block Program is to bring the backward districts of the country into the mainstream of development. The saturation of the selected indices under this program will contribute significantly to the development of the district. The departments concerned have received necessary guidelines from this meeting held under the chairmanship of the District Magistrate and they will be able to perform their tasks more effectively.
As a result of this meeting, the citizens of the district will get better health services, education and other facilities. The efforts being made under the Aspirational District/Block Program will lead to the development of the district and the standard of living of the citizens will improve.
