Gepeshwar, 21 September (HS). District Magistrate Chamoli Sandeep Tiwari held a review meeting of school education on Saturday. Along with improving the quality of education in schools, he directed to complete the infrastructure development work being carried out under various schemes with quality as soon as possible.
While reviewing the school buildings, he directed that classes should not be conducted in dilapidated school buildings under any circumstances. Provide proposals soon for the repair of dilapidated school buildings and classrooms. Government Inter Colleges Gairsain, Mehalchauri and Bhararisain should be made model schools. Separate funds will be arranged for this.
The District Magistrate instructed that smart class rooms should be prepared in schools and regular monitoring of digital education and virtual classes should be done. A list of schools which have had the worst results in board exams should be provided and arrangements should be made for regular monitoring of those schools to improve education. The District Magistrate instructed that under the National Child Health Program, health check-ups of students should be conducted regularly in all schools and such children who are suffering from any disease should be treated through the health department. A complete record of this should also be kept. On receiving incomplete information about the health check-up of children, the District Magistrate also instructed the education officials to be present in the meeting with full preparation.
The District Magistrate directed that under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Abhiyan, the Education, Child Development and Social Welfare Departments should organize camps in all the girls' inter colleges of the district in mutual coordination and make the girls aware by giving them information about their rights and safety. Girls should be given food items rich in protein and vitamins. Sanitary napkin vending machines should be installed in all girls' inter colleges. He instructed the officials of the Water Institute and Electricity Department to ensure the supply of pure drinking water and electricity in all the schools of the district. During this, the District Magistrate thoroughly reviewed the construction works being carried out in the schools under Basic Education and Numeracy, Mid-Day-Meal, PM Shri, Samagra Shiksha, District Plan, State Sector and NABARD.
Giving information, the Chief Education Officer in charge said that there are 1296 government schools, 164 recognized private schools, 37 government aided schools and two schools recognized by social welfare. In which 70244 students are registered. 561 posts are vacant against the approved 2736 posts in the schools. Out of 349 schemes approved in the district plan in the last three years, 172 have been completed. Out of 112 in natural calamity, 56 are complete and 42 are in progress. Out of 1078 Anganwadi centers in the district, 466 are operating in the school premises. Smart classes are currently established in 46 inter colleges and 16 high schools of the district and virtual labs in 45 schools. In the meeting, Chief Education Officer in charge Dharm Singh Rawat, Block Education Officer Pankaj Upreti, Samagra Shiksha Coordinator, Chief Administrative Officers from all development blocks, including officials of departments like Rural Construction, Water Institute, Electricity, Social Welfare, Child Development etc. were present.
